How do we know we are in Berlin? Or Mexico City? Or L.A.? What are the hints that reveal that (in most cases, obvious) answer. Looking too long into something, can make everything look obvious to the eyes of the beholder. In an attempt to “step-out” from a long-viewer perspective in the documentary style-film “How to Understand a City?” absurdity within the obvious was the key concept.

This project was done in my first months living in Berlin, and coordinated with two friends, Bachir in Casablanca and Lía in Santo Domingo, trying to link the (too) different cities together through not seeing the obvious as obvious, but as a guide through beauty. Watch it here.
